tentative date????

so this weekend much was accomplished with little effort; kz and i went down to RI to visit his fam, and to placate my mood (e.g. ensure his future health and safety), we swung by the beach club with his mom to poke around and get a sense of what this place is like. the day before i'd been watching wedding disaster shows (always a wise choice, like watching emergency c-section footage when you're newly preggers) and was practically despondent about weather woes, temperatures, heat or a/c...all the things you have a maniacal compulsion to control but for some reason, have your heart set on an outdoor shindig. why? because the XX, my friend, is always irrational.

anyway so here we are, me and kz's mom, grinning happily in front of the clubhouse and on the wide expanse of extremely dance-able deck, right on the freaking beach!!! yes!!





so this place is awesomer than i ever imagined; heat, a/c, some kitchen facilities, huge room with wooden floor great for dinner, that ginormous deck for drinking and dancing under the stars...and the beach, just down the steps; nuptials at the water's edge and photos on the lifeguard chair. i'm so there!



so after a zillion phone calls today and list making and much sighing and foot-tapping and knee jiggling and "gawd!" exclamations, i got ahold of the right person and found out what was available. such was my excitement that not only did i forget to ask the 9 questions i had written in front of me, but i also managed to tentatively book the friday of memorial day weekend.

calendar skills are not my strong point.

but, if need be, we can bump it to the friday before. whatev; this is the first big step, and i've finally taken it.

even if i wind up having to back up a little and do it over...
